Award-winning singer/songwriter who recently released “Logic and the Heart” – a stunning album that blends folk/rock and Americana instrumentation with intimately powerful vocals.
In September 2011 Dina released her debut full-length album of original music. Logic and the Heart was recorded and engineered by Kent Heckman at Red Rock Recording studio in Saylorsburg, Pa. Co-produced by right-hand man Michael Fritz, it is an independently-funded project. The album features appearances by a number of guest musicians.
Aside from the singer/songwriter project, Dina Hall and The Backbeat offers the texture of an acoustic duo, trio, or full band, and includes Lehigh Valley veteran musicians – Michael Fritz on lead guitar, drummer Maureen “Moe” Jerant, and Nick Franclik on bass.
Dina Hall has been a repeat performer at numerous festivals in the region, including one of the largest in the country – Musikfest in Bethlehem, Pa. She has appeared on the Lyrikplatz singer/songwriter stage, and with the full band on the Liederplatz stage. In December 2010, she was awarded three Lehigh Valley Music Awards – Best Original Band/Solo, Best Folk Performance, and Best Lyricist, and in 2011 she was voted Best Live Americana Performance – in a tie with Dave Fry.
Dina also co-hosts “Live from Godfrey Daniels” on WDIY 88.1 FM. The show airs on Tuesday nights and highlights artists who have performed at the legendary Godfrey Daniels listening club in Bethlehem, PA.
